They met, fell in love, then said “I do.”

Many Korean stars have had the best of luck in finding a lifelong partner in their co-stars or fellow celebrities, providing solid proof to the possibility of finding “reel-to-real” husbands and wives on set or from the same industry. It’s a lovely way to discover a romance meant to last forever, so without further ado, we share 10 famous couples whose love stories began in front of the camera!

1. Rain and Kim Tae-hee

Singer and actor Rain married actress Kim Tae-hee in January 19, 2017. They were together for five years before tying the knot! They reportedly met on set in 2011 when they grew affectionate towards each other, and it’s been love forever, ever since. She gave birth to their first child, a daughter, in October 2017, and in September of last year, the couple welcomed their second daughter.

2. Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung

Theirs remains to be one of the biggest weddings South Korea has ever seen, at least for celebrities. Their August 10, 2013 ceremony was nothing but glamorous, and the couple even attended a press con before the ceremony! Media outlets covered arrivals, the ceremony, and the after-party. Lee Byung-hun and Lee Min-jung definitely set the gold standard for what it means to throw a star-studded wedding. They have a 5-year-old son.

3. Won Bin and Lee Na-young

It took Won Bin and Lee Na-young three years to become Mr. and Mrs., and when they did, they did so simply. They had a rather simple ceremony by Korean celeb standards, with Won Bin opting for low-key wedding held in his hometown of Jeongseon in Gangwon Province in 2015. Only 50 guests were in attendance, and all were reportedly his and Lee Na-young’s family. The couple has a 4-year-old son.

4. Jo Jung-suk and Gummy

After a five-year relationship, actor Jo Jung-suk and singer Gummy secretly got married, with fans and media only catching up with the news days after they got hitched. Not a lot is known about their ceremony’s details, except that it was held in October 2018. As revealed early this year, they’re expecting their first child. The announcement was made last January, with Gummy reportedly seven weeks pregnant at the time.

5. Ji Sung and Lee Bo-young

Ji Sung and Lee Bo-young sure did take their time before making things official as husband and wife. They met in 2004, but they only confirmed their relationship three years after, and it would take another six years before they got engaged. They got married in September 2013 at a swanky hotel venue and soon enjoyed magazine covers featuring them on their wedding day They now have two kids: a five-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son.

6. Taeyang and Min Hyo-rin

Fans of this couple were right to expect that their wedding would be epic and full of energy! Given Big Bang member Taeyang’s background as a singer and dancer, there was no way he could have let his wedding pass without performances from friends and guests. It was really more like a mini concert considering all the dancing and singing that went down! Despite the February 2018 wedding being a private event, photos and videos shared showed that there wasn’t a dull moment during the special day. They started dating in 2013.

Despite being co-stars, their Hawaii-based pre-wedding photo shoot was the first shoot they did together! Their first child was born on July 31, 2018.

8. Ki Tae-young and Eugene

Ki Tae-young was apparently 100% serious about marrying Eugene when they met on the set on K-Drama “Creating Destiny.” He explained that they were both in it for the long-term and started dating with getting married eventually in mind! The pair has been married since 2011 and share their lives with their two daughters. Now, that’s destiny!

9. Lee Sang-woo and Kim So-yeon

Not everyone wants their wedding publicized to the world, including a select number of top-billed stars. Take couple Lee Sang-woo and Kim So-yeon who got married in June 2017 at a family-only event. Still acknowledging industry friends, fans, and well-wishers, the couple sent out a public message of thanks to everyone who were supportive of them on their wedding day. They met on the set of the MBC drama “Happy Home.”

10. Yoo Ji-tae and Kim Hyo-jin

It’s advice we often hear from happily married couples: make friendship the foundation of your relationship — and that’s exactly how these two started! Yoo Ji-tae and Kim Hyo-jin both started their careers as models and became friends who often hung out on set. They met in 2003, confirmed their relationship publicly in 2006, then got married in 2011. The most notable thing about their wedding had nothing to do with its aesthetics, but instead with the fact that they donated a portion of their monetary gifts to charity. They now have a six-year-old son.
