Ariana Grande’s Wedding ft. Vera Wang Custom Made Dress
It was mid-day on a Saturday when Ariana Grande channeled Audrey Hepburn’s timeless elegance when she walked down the aisle wearing Vera Wang Haute to marry real estate agent Dalton Gomez at her home in Montecito, California. On the most important night of her life, Ariana Grande needed a designer who would bring her vision to life. Vera Wang was more than up to the task, creating a dress inspired by Ariana’s love of classic British pop culture.
Vera created a custom lily white, silk charmeuse, empire-waist column gown accented with a sculpted neckline, an exposed bra-strap closure, and a plunging back — was befitting of the pop star on her big day. The dress was accessorised with a shoulder-length hand-pleated bubble veil with a satin bow at the very top. The ensemble, styled to perfection by Mimi Cuttrell, was reminiscent of the look Jo Stockton so famously wore. Pearl and diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz were chosen to match the bride’s engagement ring.
When it was time for her walk down the aisle, Ariana knew that she wanted to express everything she had been through in her life — her ups and downs, her hardships, and her accomplishments through her hair and makeup. After discussing some ideas with her hairstylist, Josh Liu, and makeup artist, Ash K Holm, they brought those ideas to life and made the day even more special for the bride.
The ceremony was an intimate affair, with less than 20 close friends and family gathered to watch the couple — who met while studying at Yale and started dating back in January of 2020 — say “I do” in a room aglow in candlelight. As the lyrics of “Thank U, Next” predicted (“One day I’ll walk down the aisle / Holding hands with my mama”), Ariana’s mother, Joan Grande, gave her away, although in real life she did so alongside Ariana’s father, Ed Butera. Their vows were set underneath flowers suspended from the ceiling. Dalton wore a Tom Ford suit. The couple happily committed to their forever wedding, in love for forever.
